The first quarter of 2015 has seen a hike in opportunity for professionals in the IT Banking and Financial services sector. Permanent positions still reign over contract, with many clients struggling to fill vacancies in what remains a candidate short market.

The landscape is fiercely competitive, and with this hike in demand for talent comes a need for many clients to adapt their recruitment process, practice and mindset as they look to attract and on board candidates from a from a diminishing talent pool. As the market gains in confidence, we’re urging our clients to act quickly as many candidates are in possession of multiple offers, and to reduce the risk of aggressive ‘buy backs’ from their existing employer.

Although we haven’t seen a dramatic spike of recruitment activity across our specialisms of Infrastructure and Support, Business Analysis, Application Development and Vendor Technologies, the gradual increase month on month demonstrates a firm confidence returning to the market supported by the steady increase in the number of permanent hires.
