Hudson UK Talent Trends Q3 2015 - pie chart

Stronger hiring activity predicted for September, following usual Summer lull

Strong hiring activity is predicted for September onwards as the UK job seeker market heats up.

Potential job seekers presumed that hiring activity was on hold until after the summer holidays, and as such, hiring activity was constrained from the lack of available candidates.

Robust hiring predicted in September

We surveyed over 1000 UK professionals to gain their thoughts on whether they were prepared to move jobs in 2015 and of those surveyed, 45% were open to approaches or actively looking, down by 3 base points on Q2.
However, as UK professionals and businesses alike return from the beach to their desks, we expect to see an increase in vacancies, applications and appointments in September.

The Q3 Talent Trends results are in

1.    Heightened hiring activity predicted for September onwards following the summer break
2.    Over a third of UK professionals view socialising with colleagues as unimportant
3.    UK businesses could do better, as nearly half of employers fail to develop a social culture
4.    Company review websites fail to influence UK jobseekers
5.    Nearly half of UK professionals would happily bin their Christmas party
